Anima Nova Sound Post 

Lehner Violins is pleased to introduce Anima Nova. In July of 2016 Matthias Lehner was invited to visit the workshop of Pal Molnar, the creator of this innovative, new sound post. During his visit, Mr. Molnar shared his expertise and trained Matthias on the installation and use of Anima Nova. Matthias returned from his trip as the first violin maker to bring Anima Nova to the United States. These revolutionary sound posts are now available at our workshop in New York City.  

What is Anima Nova? 

Anima Nova is a height-adjustable sound post with  flexible ball-and-socket joints. The Anima Nova was developed over a period of five years by Pal Molnar. You can find out more about Anima Nova here. 

Restoration

Since 2007, Matthias Lehner Violins has been offering its customers high quality repairs and restorations. Matthias’ expertise in restoration comes from years of work on fine stringed instruments of varied design in the workshops of David Segal, Christophe Landon and Mosa Havivi in the Carnegie Hall Studios. His patient attention to detail brings out the exquisite tonal quality in every instrument with which he works.

Bow Rehair

A fine bow rehair is one of the most important parts of tone production. All of the rehairs completed in our shop are done by Matthias Lehner himself. A rehair from our workshop is regarded as one of the best in the city, and musicians from the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera and the New York City Ballet frequent Matthias Lehner Violins for their rehairs.
